The SlickFX software is a new set of plug-ins for Final Cut Pro and Express. This collection of over 60 plug-ins is seamlessly integrated into Final Cut and includes transitions, filters, titles and generators. • Final Cut Prot 6, Final Cut Pro 7 or later (Final Cut Studio 2 or 3)
• Final Cut Express 4 or later
• Mac OS X 10.4, 10.5, 10.6 or later

The introductory price for the SlickFX plug-ins is $99 for the download version. The normal price will be $129 after the introductory period. A CD version is also available.

After you purchase online, you will be sent an email with a link to download the software, along with your Activation code. The file to download is a standard disk image file (.dmg) which will mount a new volume on your desktop containing the SlickFX installer software. The download is about 17 MB in size.

After you download the software, you launch the installer application. You will be prompted to enter in your Name and Activation code. The installer will place all of the SlicFX files in the correct location on your hard drive. The next time you start Final Cut, the SlickFX plug-ins will appear in the list of effects in the Browser window.

Yes, we offer the option to get the SlickFX software on CD. The cost is $5 more, plus shipping. You also will get a link to download the software to start using it immediately before the CD arrives. But if you don’t want to download anything, just wait a few days for the CD to arrive.

The SlickFX plug-ins use highly optimized rendering routines and perform very nicely. To see for yourself, look at our screencasts where the previews are high quality and play smoothly.

The SlickFX plug-ins use Apple’s FXPlug architecture for adding plug-ins to Final Cut (and Motion). These plug-ins will not work with iMovie, and the Slick plug-ins for iMovie do not wok with Final Cut.

Compared to the Slick iMovie plug-ins, the SlickFX plug-ins and Final Cut offer more options and greater control than possible in iMovie. For example, one of the SlickFX plug-ins does more than 6 of our iMovie plug-ins!
