Slick 9 - PDF Slide Show

This effect is useful for creating a slide show to overlay on top of a clip. Each ãslideä is a page of a PDF document. The slides can mix fonts, sizes and colors, and include graphics. The background of the slide can be transparent, so the clip will show beneath the text and graphics.

This effect uses a PDF file that can be created in the application of your choice. Creating a PDF is very simple in OS X Ð when printing a document just select the Save as PDF option to create a PDF file. Click here for Tips on Creating PDF files for PDF Slide Show.

  • The first step is to select a PDF by clicking on the ã+ä icon. The slide will be automatically scaled to fit the page. A white line appears to show the page boundaries in the preview. These lines will not appear when the effect is rendered.
  • The Alignment slider shifts the horizontal position of the slide.
  • The scrolling rate can be set two ways.
    • One way will ãscroll to fitä so the entire length of the document will scroll though the selected clip.
    • The other method sets the PDF to a certain rate Ð but there is no guarantee that the entire PDF will complete scrolling to the clip is too short. If the PDF finishes scrolling before the end of the clip, nothing will be rendered at the end.

To create a soft fade between each slide, check the ãFade Between Pagesä checkbox.

The Opacity Slider sets the background of the PDF to be semi or completely transparent. Click on the Fill Color box to set the background color. See Tips on Creating PDF files to get a transparent background in your PDF.
